Hemiunu, an ancient Egyptian prince, is thought to have designed the Great Pyramid of Giza. He held the position of vizier, following in the footsteps of his father, Nefermaat, and his uncle, Kanefer. As a key member of the court, Hemiunu was in charge of overseeing all the royal projects. His tomb is located near Khufu's pyramid.

The pyramid had a funerary complex with two mortuary temples linked by a causeway. One temple was near the pyramid, while the other was close to the Nile. There were tombs for Khufu's family and court, along with three smaller pyramids for his wives. Additionally, there was a smaller "satellite pyramid" and five buried solar barges.

-The age of the pyramid:
The age of the Great Pyramid has been established using two main methods.
Firstly, it is determined indirectly by linking it to Khufu and his historical age, which is supported by archaeological and textual evidence. Secondly, the age is determined directly through radiocarbon dating of organic material found in the pyramid and its mortar.

King Khufu's room in the pyramid is the only room from the Fourth to Sixth Egyptian Dynasties that has a flat roof and not a gabled roof. There is a granite sarcophagus west of the room. Cover not found. The sarcophagus is made of a single piece of stone. It was placed in place at the time of construction before the roof was installed.
